Making A House A Home

Making A House A Home

Since its purchase, the Crystal Anderson Youth House has served many purposes for the mission and ministry of Rincon UMC. The house has served as a residence for staff and a place for youth & scouting activities, and more. Now, it is also being used as the first transitional housing partnership with Family Promise. A mother and her daughter are in residence in the second floor for six months while they continue to seek permanent housing. The boy scouts continue to use the first floor. Many of you may not have had the opportunity to see the Youth Anderson House in some time. Over the past decade or so, a few people have been investing their time, energy, and money into the improvement of this important ministry asset of the church. The house has an enlarged meeting space with increased structural supports on the first floor, a new roof, new hot water heater, double pane windows , a new furnace, paint and chair railings, and refinished floors. A repair to the downstairs air-conditioning unit which will be completed in the spring, may open up more possibilities for mission and ministry through this property. For now we are pleased to be able to offer this house for a family to call home.
