Money, Money, Money
We don’t like to talk about money in the church (or really any place else). But money is important in our lives. After all, money makes the world go ‘round. The Bible has a lot to say about money. Jesus had a lot to say about money, too. Maybe, just maybe, we should listen. Growing spiritually can change our relationship with money. Changing how we handle our money, can help us grow closer to God.
During the month of October we’re going to talk about money. We’re going to talk about the practical and spiritual realities that get us into trouble with money. We’re going to talk about solutions to money problems, both biblical and practical. We’re going to discover the joy that comes from contentment and generosity. I hope you will plan to be
present each week in worship.
After we have a chance to prayerfully consider our relationship with money and God’s desire for us, you will be invited to set some financial goals for yourself and your family for the coming year. Specifically, you will be invited to make a commitment regarding your giving to God through the ministries of Rincon United Methodist Church. You will receive more information and an estimate of giving card in the mail. On Sunday, October 26, we will have a special Consecration service where you will have the opportunity to bring your estimate of giving cards to the altar in worship. We serve a God who is generous beyond measure. Let’s celebrate together our commitments to live as generous people.
Grace & Peace,
